Motivation To Work Out Tips

Need some motivation to get your ass down the gym? We all know that nothing worthwhile is ever easy. But working your way towards fitness and a super-sexy body really is something great to aim for.

Check out these awesome tips that’ll see you running, lifting, puffing, and panting your way towards your goals.

Write down how great you feel

Write down how great you feel

Yes, really. Because no matter how bad you feel before you work out (or during…), you always, ALWAYS feel fabulous afterwards. So write it down – and read it often. In fact, when you can’t be bothered to do some training, read your post-workout diary feelings again. Because once you drag your lazy butt outside (or to the gym, whatever works for you), you just KNOW your going to feel that way again…

Use fun apps

Use fun apps

If you’re planning on running or walking your way to fitness, then check out the Zombies, Run app. Exactly as the name suggests, you choose from one of 200 missions where you have to dodge zombies, pick up supplies, and help others. If it does nothing else, it’ll take your mind off the run with the fun stories and crazy missions…

Find an activity you love…

Find an activity you love

and you’ll never have to workout again. If you love dancing, then go dancing. If you love rock climbing – join a club (there’s plenty of indoor walls where you can practice when you can’t go mountainside). Like tennis? You know what to do…

And if you don’t know what sport could possible give you the motivation to do it on a regular basis, then get out there and try as many as you need to until one hits the spot.

Make yourself feel guilty

Make yourself feel guilty

Because sure as eggs are eggs, if you miss a workout you’re gonna regret it. Just remind yourself when you’re about to say to yourself that you’re not going to bother, quite how much you’re going to feel guilty later. It works, trust us…

Just put on your workout clothes

Just put on your workout clothes

It’s amazing how powerful it can be to simply get dressed in your workout kit. After all, once it’s on, it’s only one more small step to actually go and workout. How stupid will you feel if you simply put your gear on only to change out of it a few hours later? There’s only one reason workout clothes should go in the wash – and that’s because they’re covered in sweat from a healthy, calorie-busting workout.

Take a long hard look in the mirror

Take a long hard look in the mirror

Like what you see? Or are there still some improvements to be made (and let’s face it, in 99.9% of cases, there’s definitely more we can do). So get your ass out there and go train! Because how are you ever going to get the body beautiful by sitting on your backside? You know you can do it – so (to steal a phrase), Just Do It!

Get fitness tracker

Get fitness tracker

There’s so many on offer. Jawbone, Fitbit, the Apple Watch, other Smart Watches… And it really is true that having a little gadget on your wrist nagging you that you’ve not reached today’s exercise goal or active calorie count honestly does motivate you to get training.

And you don’t have to spend a fortune. Top tip – check out second hand ones on Ebay – especially after Christmas when lots of folks will have got the latest and be looking to cash in on their old ones. They’ll still do the job just fine…

Get a workout partner

Get a workout partner

Because it’s far harder to miss a workout if you’re going to let somebody down. It works both ways, because your buddy will also feel the same about letting you down – so a win-win situation for both of you.

Get a dog

Get a dog

Because when you have a furry friend, it’s mandatory to take him or her out for a walk every single day. Or make it a run – dogs love running with their owners. If you’re feeling really charitable, rehome a dog from a rescue center. Not only will you have a new walking/running buddy, but you’ll be doing a great deed as well.
